ICSI conducts the CS Professional exam twice a year.
Clear CS Executive
Students who have passed CS Executive can register for the CS Professional programme.
Two Modules, Seven Subjects
Module 1 has 4 subjects and Module 2 has 3 subjects, including one elective in each.
Open-Book Electives
Elective Paper I and Elective Paper II are open-book exams.
Passing Criteria
At least 40% in each paper and 50% aggregate in a module.
One or Both Modules
You can appear for one module at a time or both modules together.
Become a Company Secretary
After clearing CS Professional and completing ICSI’s training requirements, you can apply for ICSI membership.

Under the CS Professional Syllabus 2022, there are 7 subjects in 2 modules — 4 in Module 1 and 3 in Module 2, including one elective paper in each module.
Elective Paper I (Module 1): CSR and Social Governance; Internal and Forensic Audit; Intellectual Property Rights – Law and Practice; or Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Cyber Security – Laws and Practice. Elective Paper II (Module 2): Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation; GST and Corporate Tax Planning; Labour Laws and Practice; Banking and Insurance – Laws and Practice; or Insolvency and Bankruptcy – Law and Practice.
