Module 1: Cost and Management Accounting
This subject covers the topics of budgetary control, preparation of functional and Master budgeting, fixed and variable budgets, zero based budgets, standard costing and variance analysis, concept of learning curve and its application. It also helps students understand crucial decision-making tools including marginal costing and transfer pricing, tools for financial analysis and planning, the concepts of working capital management, cost of capital, capital budgeting, etc.
Module 2: Financial Accounting
This subject covers the fundamentals of accounting and accounting for special transactions in Section A, preparation of financial statements and partnership accounts in Section B, self-balancing ledgers, royalties, hire purchase and instalment system, branch and departmental accounts in Section C, computerized accounting system and accounting standards in Section D.
Module 3: Laws and Ethics
This syllabus aims to test the student’s ability to explain fundamental aspects of laws, understand the principles of corporate governance and ethical values.
- Section A (Commercial Laws): Indian Contracts Act 1872, Sale of Goods Act 1930, Negotiable Instruments Act 1881, Indian Partnership Act 1932, Limited Liability Partnership Act 2008.
- Section B (Industrial Laws): Factories Act 1948, Payment of Gratuity Act 1972, Employees Provident Fund Act 1952, Employees State Insurance Act 1948, Payment of Bonus Act 1965, Minimum Wages Act 1948, Payment of Wages Act 1936, Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority Act 2013.
- Section C (Corporate Laws): Companies Act 2013 – Sec 1 to Sec 122, understanding the roles and responsibilities of a Director.
- Section D (Ethics): Business Ethics – importance, nature and relevance to business, values and attitudes of professional accountants, principles of public life, ethics in business.
Module 4: Direct Taxation
This subject covers the basics of the Income Tax Act, heads of income and computation of total income and tax liability, Tax management, administration procedure and ICDS. CMA Inter Coaching
Module 5: Indirect Taxation
This subject develops the student’s ability to understand the principles underlying the Indirect Taxation Statutes with reference to GST Act and Customs Act, compute the assessable value of transactions related to goods and services for levy and determination of duty liability, identify and analyse the procedural aspects under different applicable statutes related to indirect taxation.
Module 6: Cost Management and Financial Decision Making
This subject provides an in-depth knowledge of the detailed procedures and documentation involved in cost ascertainment systems.
- Section A: Introduction to cost and management accounting, decision making tools, budgeting and budgetary control, standard costing and variance analysis, learning curve.
- Section B: Introduction to Financial Management, tools for financial analysis and planning, working capital management, cost of capital, dividend decisions, leverage analysis, capital budgeting and investment decisions.
